Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics was established in 2002 In Afghanistan. This association is non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization which is not affiliated with any governmental or non-governmental organization.

• Along with Reproductive health directorate, the Ministry of public health tried hard to minimize maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity rates.
• The main objectives of this association is to promote the knowledge and professional skills of gynecologist and obstetric doctors, restoration of their rights and their integration to professionalism.
• This association has more than 500 members across the country in 5 regions (North, South, East, West and Central) and providing health care services for mother and neonata in the governmental and non-governmental health centers. This association could obtain membership of the FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics).
